[attr="class","ur_appsubtitle"]LUCIAN'S STARTING DREAM WORLD
[attr="class","ur_appcont"]
GENERAL DESCRIPTION[break]
welcome to arcadia, the world of games. here, games are law. somewhat similar to the rules of the popular franchise no game no life, everything is decided by games. from world wars to simple matters; games decide all. violence does not exist, and is simply banned as a whole. people do not fight or kill, but rather play games to obtain money, to obtain land, and even knowledge. first, two wagers are made, which must be agreed upon by both parties, and then they must swear to fulfill the wager. then, the game is played until a victor is decided. the rules of the game, its techniques and its consequences are all decided by the players. interference is not allowed, but you can cheat as long as you can get away with it. if you don't get away with it, however, you lose immediately.
[break][break]
APPEARANCE[break]
arcadia is a smallish country about the size of denmark- it has a bustling city at its core and smaller villages on the outskirts. people go about their normal lives, and for a dreamworld it is very well populated- there are many dreamwalkers, shades, and even characters of the dream. every part of it is overflowing with life. you can find anything here- from a park to a gas station, to a mountain top and even a library. the scenes vary, but many people are about everywhere.
[break][break]
ACCESS[break]
it's very simple to enter lucian's dreamworld- probably why it seems to be in a constant state of chaos with many dreamwalkers and shades alike. all you have to do is find any playing card in gaea's dream, and tear it. in doing so, the card will turn white, and then swallow you whole- until the white light finally disappears, and you are left with where you left off last time-- if you exited while at lucian's bar you'll find yourself there again.
[break][break]
if it's your first time, you arrive at a citizenship desk, greeting by an irritable middle aged woman asking for your name, age, and other basic information. after that she hands you a citizenship card detailing not just your basics, but also your personal history and information- basically, your identity in the country of arcadia. you could be a farmer or a police officer- the woman hands you the card all the same, and it becomes the role you take on every time you come in to arcadia. the card also holds somewhat magical properties: it keeps record of games you've won and lost, and what you've bet and what you've gained as prizes.
[break][break]
NOTABLE FIGURES (OPTIONAL)[break]
there are a multitude of people in arcadia, of every walk of life, and personality. none of them are exceptionally noticeable, however.
lucian himself is a bartender in his dreams (it's usually common for people to be what their real life occupation is, although students do not exist in arcadia)-- and he owns a lot of land from playing games with people.
[break][break]
OTHER DETAILS (OPTIONAL)[break]
1. shades corrupting the dreamworld is both easy and difficult- once they own land in arcadia (just play games with the right people), that land becomes corrupted. to corrupt the soul, they will have to own it; thus, the need to play even more games.
[break][break]
2. the main job of dreamwalkers is to try and bet things with shades in order to reclaim the acquired land. usually, they have to bet more land, or maybe even information: both players must consent. their goal is to play games and re capture the corrupted parts of arcadia.
[break][break]
3. this world represents Lucian's childish view of the real world- everything is a game.
[break][break]
4. in order to "kill" someone, since violence is prohibited in arcadia, you must make them agree to wager their citizenship card. if you win and destroy the card, the person will be forced to exit the dream (ie. how death works in other dreams).
[break][break]
5. in this world, you must always uphold your bets- infact, it is physically impossible not to. for example, if the terms are "the loser must fall in love with the winner" then, upon losing, the loser will automatically find themselves attracted to the winner. ... what do you mean has lucian tried that before?
