[attr="class","ur_appsubtitle"]LUCAS' STARTING DREAM WORLD
[attr="class","ur_appcont"]
GENERAL DESCRIPTION[break]
Welcome to The North Pole, or sometimes simply the Snow Globe, as Lucas' dream world is the Christmas wonderland as depicted by a snow globe given to him by his childhood best friend. It's a magical little place where it seems, just like in all the Christmas movie classics, anything is possible.
[break][break]
APPEARANCE[break]
The North Pole is a town square nestled between snowcapped mountains and a forest of evergreens. A massive Christmas tree sits in the center of the plaza, with the grand Silver Bell Hotel to the west and a train station with a line of holiday shops to the east. To the south sits a hot chocolate stand from which you can also rent ice skates for use on the frozen lake beside it. Up north, just beside the train station, is a Christmas-themed carousel where one can ride in sleighs or trains, atop reindeer, or even on snowflakes. Venturing past the carousel and built up into the side of the mountains is a castle that seems to be Santa's Workshop, accessible either by the well-lit winding road or via cable car.
[break][break]
The dream world seems to be set constantly in a December of the 1940's, though with modern conveniences. It's almost always nighttime, except when it's sunrise or sunset. If it's not snowing, a brilliant and starry night sky is visible. The town square and hotel is usually bustling with Christmas celebration, though the activity seems to thin out if a more quiet setting is desired. The Christmas castle is usually empty, save the reindeer in the adjoining stables and Lucas, who tends to reside there. The castle does however seem to be enchanted with invisible elves and staff, as activity can be heard in the workshop and kitchen and dinner always serves itself if Lucas doesn't cook it. Santa himself has been known to make occasional visits to the place, though less often as Lucas got older.
[break][break]
On rare occasion, often corresponding to when Lucas is most despondent, the town appears to be closed down for the season, with only a couple of staff members lurking about if anyone at all. All the lights are off and doors locked, and the weather might be anything from a dreary drizzle to a harsh blizzard.
[break][break]
ACCESS[break]
The key to the North Pole comes rather fittingly in the form of a snow globe of sorts, particularly unique in that it doesn't appear to be just any mass produced trinket you would buy in a store. Nestled in a mason jar rather than a proper globe appears to be a live view of the dream world, complete with lights and a view of any people walking around outside at the time. In order to travel to the North Pole, a person must shake the jar while thinking of their own personal perfect Christmas.
[break][break]
Once teleported, dreamers will find themselves aboard a train, dressed for the winter. The train will shortly deliver them to the North Pole train station. It's somewhat random whether they step into the train car en route or if they end up stepping right out at the North Pole train station; part of it seems to be personal preference if the dreamer would like to experience the trip or not.
[break][break]
NOTABLE FIGURES (OPTIONAL)[break]
Besides Santa Claus sometimes dropping into the workshop - especially when there's someone around who's open to the Christmas spirit and needs cheering up - a few of the characters around the plaza might seem familiar. The most present and prominent members of the hotel staff and shop owners appear to share a likeness with classic Christmas movie stars. Maureen O'Hara from Miracle on 34th Street seems to be the hotel concierge for instance, and Cary Grant from The Bishop's Wife often appears in the town square to show visitors around the little town.
[break][break]
OTHER DETAILS (OPTIONAL)[break]
Visitors to the North Pole will most often find themselves as guests at the Silver Bell Hotel, with a reservation already in their name when they approach the front desk. Being a staff member at the hotel or one of the town businesses isn't unheard of though. Everyone who visits will find a present addressed to them, something they've always wanted but never received, under the Christmas tree in the hotel lobby. All sorts of little miracles happen here. Those who are pure of heart or at the very least have a genuine love of Christmas may find themselves able to wield a simple, holiday-themed brand of magic, as well, with Lucas' having to do with creating intricate snowflakes.

[attr="class","ur_appsubtitle"]CHARACTER HISTORY (OPTIONAL)
[attr="class","ur_appcont"]
Both of Lucas' parents are of prominent, wealthy, society families, though they tried to raise him outside of the pressures that usually come with the station. However, poor health and his grandparents' high hopes for him led to inevitable limitations and strain. A significant part of his adolescence was spent bedridden, hospitalized, or shuffled from one social event to the next. Still, he was mostly a happy child. His mother encouraged his interests in art and music, and they often cooked together. And though early on he was cripplingly shy, a fast and meaningful friendship with older classmate Jeremiah Burton brought a lot of joy and assurance into his life. Even after the pair were separated when Jerry was sent to live with his uncle, their friendship would soon continue upon reuniting in the Dream Worlds.
[break][break]
However this couldn't last. Six years ago Jerry and his dream world vanished, and since then Lucas' life has been a much lonelier one. The years have been filled with searching the Dream Worlds for Jerry during sleeping hours and submitting to school work, tutoring and yet more hospital visits while awake.
