in katya's dreamworld (also known as the easel), colors take priority over borders. basically, everyone becomes slightly color coded when they enter, and the physical outlines blur. you have a specific color, generally suggestive of your personality, and what you touch becomes that color. it's possible to leave doodles in the air and even create outlines that come to life as fantasy animals; it seems strangely 2D, but you can transverse in all directions and it IS 3D- it just seems cartoonish. it takes some while getting used to for those who are used to different worlds.
it represents katya's inner want to be able to color beyond the lines like a kid- it's a world that's dipped in rainbow imperfection and shows off the inner child she is, but rarely shows. she smiles a lot more while in this dream, that's for sure, and many people question how a perfectionist like her can remain sane in such crazy doodles.

the land in the dream is open and vast, with curves that makes for interesting places, but never steep enough to be considered hills. everything is very natural trees, flowers and lakes are common, although the colors are all strange and completely different from the real world- like purple trees and red grass. the horizon is stuck in the time of dawn, although it's hard to discern seeing how the sky is littered with splotches of different colors. people who enter retain their natural skin color, but their hair, clothing and accessories all change into a single color that matches them.

via the museum of fine art in gaea's dream, of course. you have to find the correct painting, first, and to do so you must locate the one of a brilliant fire underneath the nighttime sky, surrounded by mountains. you then just step inside the painting, like it's an empty void, and then your foot will land on a random piece of miscolored land that is katya's dreamscape. the space of air behind you will flash white and then disappear-- you are officially within the rainbow walls of a crazy artist's secret fantasy.

the painting is actually the fondest memory of katya- when her father took her to the base camp of mount elbrus, and told her a lot of campfire stories. it is likely that the painting is liable to change depending on katya's fondest memory, but it has been 10 years since her trip to the mountain, and it has remained constant since...

king of green- a dashingly handsome young boy who claims the color GREEN and is generally unseen for the most part. he is kind and generous, and represents katya's first ever crush; even though he rejected her terribly, in the dream he is portrayed as a kind gentleman.

mage of blue- a mysterious, robed individual who claims the color BLUE and is said to live somewhere around the huge lake at the center of the plains. katya's seen him a few times only and she's scared of him, which is why she doesn't like to go around water that much, preferring to stay towards the north of her easel. he (she? it?) represents katya's fear of the ocean and drowning.
